We also do commissioned guitar hunts on the Japanese market, so feel free to message us if you have something in mind or even if you are unsure. We can make recommendations that suit your taste to the best of our knowledge.

This guitar is Greco’s attempt at replicating a Gibson Les Paul Standard.

The EG-700 model sits somewhere in between the mid and high end of the quality spectrum that Greco had offered at the time.

Boasting a solid maple top and "Made in Japan" craftsmanship, not to mention the popular U-2000 pickups, this blows any modern Les Paul copy out of the water.

It goes without saying that these are very desirable guitars because of their great quality and affordable price tag. As they become rarer and more vintage as time goes by, they are becoming gradually harder to find, even domestically in Japan.

【Specs and condition】

In all original condition.

It has some scratching and dinging on it, as to be expected of something its age, but it is on the clean side, everything considered.

Plays beautifully.

- Solid carved maple top

- Solid mahogany back

- Maple neck with a set neck joint

- Very light colored (brown) ebony fretboard (according to the catalog)

It looks very much like Indian Rosewood, however, it feels closer to Ebony.

- Greco original MIJ hardware (tuners, tailpiece, etc.)

- Original nut and frets with minimal wear

- Original plastics (the poker chip is slightly warped)

- U-2000 pickups

- 4.55 kg

- The neck profile is slim and comfortable, with a slightly wider feeling fretboard, which is great for lead work

【About U-2000 pickups】

These pickups are some of Greco’s more desirable pickups.

The lows are tight yet mellow, the mids - highs are very clear and chimey.

With very nice note definition/separation and adequate power, this pickup handles both clean and dirty situations extremely well.

The magnets have also aged over 40 years, giving it that nice vintage sag.

We really do not think that there is a better guitar at this price.

Comes with brand new hard case.

Sold as is, due to our location, but we will do our very best to ensure you have the best buying experience possible and are open to partial refunds depending on the situation.
